Upon mom’s passing we have been fortunate to be contacted by some of her family from Belgium. Christian Gaule, first cousin to mom, reached out to Sabine and I and sending us pictures of mom. I’d like to keep adding them to this blog; we love the pictures. Christian has also confirmed mom’s nickname that she inherited at 20 months of age, Poupette, which is French for butterfly.

I can so see the 2 of you in that picture of her in the long dress. It must mean so much to you to have these mementos of your mom’s youth. Have you never met your Belgium relatives?
Yes we met lots of relatives when we in first grade and third grade. 🙂 It’s been a long time really only new our grandparents the most. They came to visit us more than us visit them since they were retired and it was cheaper to fly just 2 people. But I do remember Belgium very well. 🙂
